The Overnighter is an overnight test which can be used to screen for Streptococcus species and Staphylococcus growing in mastitis milk.
This technology arose from a farmer's need for a test to rapidly tell what type of mastitis is present in milk. Traditionally this test would take several days, with the Overnighter you can have the answer in a matter of hours.
This allows farmers to target treatment earlier and more accurately. Over time this helps build an infection picture for the whole herd, and assists prescribing decisions.
Correct treatment of Mastitis will help improve profitability by reducing production losses, culling, somatic cell count grades and infection risks within the herd.
